The University Activities Board (UAB) is excited to offer opportunities for Registered Student Organizations (RSOs), residence hall groups, MSU departments, and other campus organizations to partner with us on events. This is an excellent opportunity for both your organizations and UAB to bring fun and exciting opportunities to the campus community. Please review the following guidelines and expectations regarding how we can best partner together. At the bottom of this page is a link to the UAB Partnership Form that you will need to complete on behalf of your organization if you are interested in pursuing a partnership.
UAB Partnership Form submissions for Fall 2024 should be completed no later than September 30, 2024. Partnership Form submissions for Spring 2025 should be completed no later than November 30, 2024.
Partnership with UAB will include the following:
- Brainstorming, planning, and executing an event in collaboration with a UAB Coordinator and Advisor.
- Scheduled in-person meetings between both organizations.
- Equitable participation and contributions throughout.
The following guidelines and expectations must be followed throughout the event planning process:
- All event logistics must be discussed between partners prior to the event. Logistics can include, but are not limited to, venue, catering, decor, marketing, and more.
- All advertising for the event must be reviewed and approved by both organizations before distribution.
- The event must be open and advertised to the entire MSU student body.
- Event attendees will need to show MSU id for event entry.
- Event must be FREE.
- The event may not be used as a fundraising event. Items may not be sold during the event.
Resources that UAB could provide for a partnered event:
- Event planning expertise
- Marketing and advertising including table tents, email promotion, posters, website, social media, etc.
- Event day onsite personnel
- Event location reservation resources for campus venues
- Various additional campus resources including, but not limited to, access to sound and lighting, knowledge of on campus food vendors, booking an artist or vendor with a contract, and more
- Security personnel (MSU staff, Green Coats)
- Access to MSU Union (room reservations and setup)
- Financial support toward shared event expenses
