Applications now available:
The 8th Annual Battle of the Bands applications are now available in the UAB Office (322 MSU Union) or click here to downloand.
Get your band together and submit your application to perform in this year’s competition (to be held on on Saturday, February 27, 2010.)  Applications are due Friday, February 19, 2010 by 5 p.m. in the UAB Office.  This event is sponsored by Marshall Music Co.  First place prize will be a $1,500 gift certificate to Marshall Music Co.

Information Session for UAB jobs for 2010-2011 school year

UAB wants YOU!! Do you love entertainment, awesome events, and great leadership experiences? UAB is looking for fresh ideas and highly motivated students to become student directors for the 2010-2011 school year. If you are interested in gaining leadership skills, meeting new people, planning fantastic events, and making a difference at MSU then plan on attending this information session! You will also see where UAB Alumni are now; we have a 100% placement with our past Directors in graduate school or jobs. This session is open to all undergraduate students, all majors. Student Director positions include Arts, Communications, Films, Human Resources, Leadership/Education, Multicultural, Special Events, and Spirit and Traditions. UAB Directors receive a stipend for both semesters.

Psychic Fair
9 p.m. to Midnight, International Center
Join UAB and 5 different psychics to tell you things that you didn’t even know about yourself!
Come out and explore the art of psychic readings. With palm, tarot card, and astrology readings you are sure to be knocked off your feet and left wanting more. Get your handwriting analyzed to discover what it says about you, or have your very own caricature drawn. Then go crazy and get your craft on. Also join us for a dream catcher craft, and last but certainly not the least, enjoy henna hand painting.

Creator of MSU’s Piled High and Deeper comic will be presenting a thought-provoking yet humorous lecture examining the possible effects of the current economic environment on global research, while helping students figure out what their role in the coming social order might be. Spartan giveaways throughout the evening. In partnership with MSU Council of Graduate Students.

The Ultimate Video Game Experience
9 p.m. to 1 a.m., Ballroom, 2nd floor, MSU Union
Test your video game skills at the Ultimate Video Game experience. Play the newest games on four 120” television screens and four 100” screens. The games in the tournament include Mario Kart, Wii bowling, Halo, Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, Super Smash Brothers, Rockband, Madden, and hundreds more to choose from. Collect raffle tickets for the games you win throughout the night to win prizes. Prizes include a flat screen tv, a Playstation 3 and gift cards to Best Buy. Also check out the texting tournament sponsored by Metro PCS. Registration starts at 9 p.m., tournament starts at 9:30 p.m. Compete for the fastest texting time to win a grand prize of a Wii Game System. $3 vouchers to Union Central handed out to the first 200 students.  Must be MSU Student to win prizes and show ID, only one prize per person.

Just Dance
9:00 pm – Midnight, International Center
Get your groove on with meringue lessons, (9:00 p.m. & 10:15 p.m.) salsa lessons (9:00 p.m. & 10:15 p.m.), and belly dancing lessons (9:15 p.m. & 10:15 p.m.). Practice your new dance moves from 11:00 p.m. to midnight. Free Sparty’s food vouchers and maracas and cymbals will be given out while supplies last.
